Wall Drug & Mount Rushmore

Stopped by the famous Wall Drug Store! Every one of the fifty Wall Drug bill boards I drove by built up my excitement for this place. Wall Drug, around 300 miles West of Sioux Falls.

About 75 miles west of Wall, SD lies Mount Rushmore National Memorial. The fresh air surrounded by tall pine is refreshing.

Sioux Falls Downtown Sculpture Street

A couple of days ago, I explored downtown Sioux Falls on my bike after going to their YMCA. Sioux Falls is the largest city in South Dakota with a population of 159,908 (2012) but it is still far off from being a metropolitan. There are no skyscrapers, but rather larger bank buildings. There are a decent amount of shops and restaurants and the people seem friendly. While I was biking through Monday at around 5PM, usually rush hour in big cities, I was surprised how quiet it was. There is an annual sculpture walk and also a beautiful old courthouse museum, but nothing too exciting. There are all your regular stores like Target, Best Buy, and a mall located in surrounding areas. So overall, Sioux Falls is a quiet and peaceful place with everything you need.
